Time's Tony Karon dings the NYT for missing a key point about President Ahmadinejad and his tough talk: The guy doesn't really run Iran; unelected clerics do. It's common knowledge, and commonly missed in the coverage. (Somehow it was more often noted back when Iran's moderate President Khatami was "in power.")
It's not that the presidents have no power, it's just that it seems to be very limited. That's a point worth making every time Ahmadinejad offers his latest crazy talk.
UPDATE: Then again, when it's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei offering spouting off....
