Ruins and the Reality Show
This past weekend, Sara, myself, and our friend P. decided to visit Palmyra, Syria's premier ruins. And they were impressive.
But we also ran into a slightly more modern triumph of Syrian culture:
It's Top Model Syria 2007, currently aired on the official Syria Channel. (But, who knows, it could be coming to a channel near you soon!)
Taking advantage of the historic setting of Palmyra, the group was not only filming, they were engaged in the age-0ld tradition of playing catch with a soccer ball (or at least trying to).
Sara and I chatted with one of them. (Yes, I initiated the conversation. So?)
She was lovely. And since I am dedicated to my research, I scoured the Web for more info about the show. Sadly, there are just a few precious pages.

Lovelier than Sara? The ruins looked lovely, too.
