Syria Times—the country’s top, government-owned, English language, paper (lots of competitors!) chimes in on the Petraeus-Crocker testimony:
Objective observers believe there is no doubt U.S. President George W. Bush and his White House team have found in the Petraeus-Crocker report a salvation boat to help them continue launching their misinformation and lies campaign. They are keen to carry out this campaign in spite of all the wave of criticism directed against them by the American people and their representatives in Congress.
Sounds about right to me.
Oh, and in other news from Syria Times:
President Bashar al-Assad has sent congratulation cables to Presidents of Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala on the occasion of their countries National Days.
The President expressed the best wishes to the leaders and peoples of Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Guatemala in his own name and in the name of the Syrian people.
The Breckenridge Cowgirls volleyball team ended the regular season on a high note with a sweep of the Hawley Minn. Nuggets, 26-24, 25-23, 25-22.
