From IWPR's Iraqi Press Monitor:
EDITORIAL: WERE BANNED WEAPONS THE REASON FOR THE WAR?
By Hameed Abdullah
(Al-Mashriq, 31 Oct 04) - No sane man would be convinced that when the American forces marched to occupy Baghdad they did not know the importance of the enterprise at al-Qaqa. If they did not, it means that banned weapons were not the purpose for occupying Iraq and toppling its political regime. If the weapons were the real aim of the war, how can we explain why the American forces ignored this significant enterprise? If they knew how dangerous were the materials contained by the enterprise, they should have protected it like they did the Ministry of Oil.
